Creative Collages by Jose Romussi

Embrodery and Collages by Jose Romussi

Chilean artist Jose Romussi studied landscape design but became famous with silk prints and collages over the past years.
Romussi takes vintage black & white photographs and saw over some colorful thread adding a playful touch to the frozen postures of the models. He is especially attracted by dancers and ballerinas that seem very sensual but inaccessible at the same time. Romussi is usind the dynamic in each picture, working over it with needle and thread, creating something new out of the old, bringing the old costumes of the dancers back alive. His works are an esthetic invitation to dream away.

Beauty of Traumas and Phobias by Ines Kozic

Beauty of Traumas and Phobias by Ines Kozic

Overcoming the past, facing the future : two stages in a life that require strength and sometimes the help of art. For Inès Kozic, a 22 years old artist from France and student at the Fine Arts School of Rennes, photography is a tool to ease the vulnerability of a sensitive soul.
Both in front and behind the camera, Inès’ expresses the scars of her past and her very intimate fears with minimalistic yet powerful photographs. Death is the main theme of her theatrical images, oscillating between forensic poetry and dark childhood tales. Gut-wrenching imagery for the beholder and a catharsis for the artist : better than any therapy.

Earlier this year, on the occasion of 23rd edition of Life Ball that took place in Vienna, photographer Inge Prader made incredible photographs in tribute to Gustav Klimt’s Golden phase. Settings of iconic paintings were recreated with models specially dressed for this artistic performance.

Igor Skaletsky, Fashion Collage Master

Igor Skaletsky: Fashion Collage Master

on Behance

Igor Skaletsky does have what it takes to be a collage master. Born in 1978 in Russia, this freelance illustrator has travelled in the hot spots of contemporary art, including Israel and Germany, to find his own visual identity. The result of this initiatory trip is a unique technique, combining digital photomontage with acrylic paint and varnish.

Skaletsky’s pleasure is to collide Early Netherlandish painters and Italian Renaissance masters with trendy supermodels and icons of the tattoo culture, such as Zombie Boy. He denudes the characters of famous paintings to reveal their tattooed bodies, flirting with irreverence and even blasphemy.
His creations, dark and cold, are a fascinating combination of laidback lowbrow art and hieratic highbrow masterpieces : the Russian artist has made the choice of the everything or nothing, emulating both David Lachapelle and Hieronymus Bosch in their ironical way of connecting morbid and trash with sacred and luxury.
Fine Art gods and heroes are making an incursion in the world of Haute Couture and swag, while pop culture “it” girls and boys are bringing their bondage accessories and sensuality to the museums. A real modern religious iconography, displaying saints and sinners, écorchés and fashion animals. The kind of universe where art lovers wish to do a pilgrimage.
