Su Blackwell, an English artist, imagines these poetic and meticulous book sculptures, inspired by folkloric books and fairy tales, which enchant our imagination and wake our child’s soul. She explains : “I began to make a series of sculptures, cutting-out images from old books to create three-dimensional diorama’s, and displaying them inside wooden boxes.” Her artworks are so fragile that they seem almost ephemeral.Details are impressive ; the more you look, the more you discover little things, invisible at first sight. Enchanted forests, charming houses, boats by moonlight, a universe directly inspired by her childhood, which she spent in the middle of trees, to write stories or to read.
