Landscape Architect and theorist Charles Jencks

Landscape Architect and theorist Charles Jencks

The garden is inspired by science and mathematics, with sculptures and landscaping on these themes, such as Black Holes and Fractals. The garden is not abundant with plants, but sets mathematical formulae and scientific phenomenae in a setting which elegantly combines natural features and artificial symmetry and curves. It is probably unique among gardens, drawing comparisons with a similarly abstract garden in Scotland, Little Sparta.

Sand Drawing by Tony Plant and  Jim Denevan

Armed with little more than standard garden rake, environmental artist Tony Plant transforms the breathtakingly scenic beaches of England into temporary canvases for his swirling sand drawings. Each work is created below the tidal zones where the sand is flatter and wetter, allowing for greater contrast as he quickly drags the rake into various geometric patterns.

Psychedelic nudes by Dani Olivier

 Psychedelic nudes by Dani Olivier

To shoot these stunning nude portraits, Paris-based photographer Dani Olivier dressed his models with nothing but light, using their bodies as a canvas, combined with a series of geometric patterns to celebrate the beauty of the female form.
“Dani Olivier began working with light projections some eight years ago, and he’s been refining the process ever since. He prefers to collaborate with dancers and other women who move to the beat of their own drums, whose bodies can ripple through space alongside the projected motif. These seductive portraits of women are a subtle but lovely reimagination of both the nude as an art form as well as the medium of light.”
