Bugs Get Bejeweled into Crystal Critters by Tyler Thrashe
Forget taxidermy—encrusting animal remains with crystals is the new best way to send your pets onto their next lives. Caver and wilderness man Tyler Thrasher began collecting cicadas and animal bones from long hikes and combining them with the mineral formations that enthralled him while exploring underground caves. “I coupled that with my understanding of chemistry and chemical principles and combined the two,” Thrasher tells The Creators Project. “I decided to put an alchemical narrative behind my work, using cicada shells and remains to reference transformation, and skulls as momento mori—a stark reminder of our mortality and the alchemist’s pursuit to subdue it.”Check out Thrasher’s other work below, and buy your own on his online store.

Installation in an Art Gallery in London
Since January 25th and until March 11th, an installation by teamLab namedTranscending Boundaries is visible at Pace Gallery in London
This decline is in fact divided in two artworks: a first one called Universe of Water Particles, which represents a virtual waterfall flowing all along the gallery ; and a second one (Flowers Bloom on People) which consists in the apparition of flowers depending on the movements of the spectators. Apart from babies, Seth Casteel is known for photographing animals. An animal lover, and a fanatic dog person, Casteel created a series that captures his little friends as they dive into the pool. The result is simply hilarious, as the dogs’ expressions in addition to the water create some of the most fun, humorous images you’ve ever seen.
