Marie Troïtskaia aka Marie Oiseau is an architect versed in pastry making beautiful cakes inspired by the building, sculptures and other forms.

The young woman of 21 combines her studies of architecture with her passion for dessert planning to create each of her cakes as an architectural project.
Originally from Moscow, she pursued her studies in France in Paris with a career as a pastry chef.
If she previously worked as a chef in Moscow in the Californecaketion pastry shop, she hopes to open her own shop in the capital of France. More here.

 Land Art in Egypt: The Beautiful Geometry of Desert Breath

Robert Smithson’s Spiral Jetty has a rival. Enlivening the Sahara Desert sands outside El Gouna in Egypt, the beautiful Desert Breath installation is a mind-blowing example of land art that has attracted art lovers since 1997. Designed by Danae Stratou, Alexandra Stratou and Stella Constantinides, the piece was dug by the D.A.S.T. Arteam in the sands near the Red Sea over two years. The spiral installation winds around a serene pool, covering a whopping 1 million square feet across the barren desert.

Mirror Installations On Deserts And 

Pathways In Iran by Shirin Abedinirad
One of the first uses of mirrors in architecture was in Persepolis, Persia at the Tachara Palace. Glossy black stones were polished till their surface was reflective, expanding the palace’s size and beauty. My idea was to return the concept of doubling space and light.
In my “Heaven on Earth” project, the basic geometric shapes and symmetrical composition of the mirrors are angling up the cement stairs. For me the use of mirrors is integral to creating a paradise; mirrors give light, an important mystical concept in Persian culture. When the audience stands at the top of the stairs and looks down, they come face to face with an optical illusion that increases their light, and therefore their spirituality of the space. The blue sky spills onto the ground, mimicking a pool, and the audience is momentarily overcome with the desire to jump into the light.
With the “Evocation” I wanted to tackle one of the biggest problems – lack of water. My installation of mirrors brings little water pools to the sand. I created an illusion and challenge the relationship between human mind and the elements of nature.
