Wasps build rainbow nests with colored construction paper By Mattia Menchetti
If you give colorful paper to wasps, they will build rainbow nests! A surprising and psychedelic discovery by Mattia Menchetti, a biology student at the University of Florence, who created an experiment providing different colors of paper to a captive colony of European wasps. If these rainbow wasp nests are pretty amusing, they unfortunately demonstrate how unintentional human interference can also produce surprising and dramatic results.
